What’s our second favorite season after Prom Season? Award Show Season, of course! It is in full swing and the red carpet fashion just keeps getting better! This past Sunday was the highly anticipated 2020 Grammy Awards. Stars dressed to impress, graced the red carpet, gave breathtaking performances, and received some of the most prestigious awards in the music industry. While the day is usually very glamorous, the 2020 Grammys were much different, as the news broke about Kobe Bryant, his daughter and several others being involved in a fatal helicopter crash. Hearts were heavy in Staples Center that night, to say the least.
Alicia Keys opened the show with a tribute to Kobe Bryant and his family that touched us all, calling Staples Center “the house that Kobe Bryant built.” She went on to perform a duet with Boyz II Men to sing, “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye.” It was a beautiful performance; our thoughts and prayers are with all of the families involved in this tragedy. The monumental evening continued on with star-studded performances, touching acceptance speeches, and new records set.
So, looking at the Red Carpet looks - the stars did not disappoint! Our girl Ariana Grande always slays, but her Grammy look was iconic. She strutted into the award show in a gray strapless look that had layers on layers of gorgeous tulle. She was really taking the ball gown to a whole new level! She completed her look with matching silk gloves and her signature high ponytail. Ari came to serve looks that that is exactly what she did.
Billie Eilish came to WIN at the 2020 Grammys. She became the second artist to ever sweep the top four categories of awards in one night. Billie took home the Grammy awards for: Best Pop Vocal Album, Best New Artist, Album of the Year, along with Record and Song of the year. She ended up winning five out of the six categories she was nominated for - such a huge night for her! At just eighteen years old, Billie Eilish is making huge moves in the music world!
